Leadership position in technology entrepreneurship & commercialization

I was invited by the Technology Innovation Management (TIM) program at Carleton University to participate in the 4th TIM Lecture Series Showcase. The topic was focused on the

“Leadership position in technology entrepreneurship & commercialization”

I have attended a few of the past lectures and have always found the presenters to be engaging, thought provoking and I always left feeling enlightened. Looking around the room I was surprised to see that all the seats were taken and people were standing in every available space. The tables were now turned and it was my turn not to disappoint the audience and offer some valuable insights to them, no pressure.

Opening remarks were by Dr. Jerry Tomberlin, Dean of the Sprott School of Business followed by Roseann O’Reilly Runte, President and Vice-Chancellor of Carleton University set the tone for the event by relating a story of a painter in ancient Greece.  This was followed by the various faculty within the TIM program and the Sprott School of Business.

The second had 10 entrepreneurs talking about their work in entrepreneurship and commercialization. The slides from this session are below and you can find a recount of the session in the TIM Review article.
